Christmas 2008...Finally!

It all began on the night of Dec. 22. We decided to leave right after work that day to avoid crappy weather...and it's a good thing we did because they ended up closing I-80 the next day. Yikes! Here are Tyler and Tristan in the Suburban just hangin' out as we start the trip.

Me and Carter (with the DVD headphones on.) He demands a "moo-moo" as soon as he's in his seat and usually asks for "Toppy" which means Thomas the Tank Engine. Yeah, the bandaid is actully covering up a gash on his forehead, it's not just for fun (he fell on one of his trains the other night...it's a whole other story!)

Here's Carter about 2 hours (or less) into the trip! And the little guys slept pretty much the whole time too! Hooray!!!

Before the Wood's headed up to Red Oak for X-mas, Carrie and Emerson stopped by to say hello. Em needed a snack so here we are with her in the kitchen...

Tyler and Tristan cheesin' in the sun room.

Carter's first time bowling was Christmas Eve with Nicole Fisher, SBF and Orv (her parents.) We had a great time!

Carl showing Carter how it's done.

Carter enjoying the delicious bowling alley food. He helped himself to the spinach artichoke dip. Carter loves his dip! Any dip!

Fish and Matt with Tristan and Tyler.

Grandpa Ken (Paw) with Carter and Uncle Matt's cell phone (his fave toy.)

Me and Fish with Tristan.

Carter at Nanny's house on Christmas Eve. He sure loves his Nanny Janny. He tells me every night that Nanny made his pillow for him (she sewed a pillowcase out of John Deere fabric for him!) He loves his pillow and he does actually sleep with his head on it.

With the antlers and Curious George.

Grandma Sue with Tyler on X-mas eve.

Tyler and Tristan wrestling in just their diapers waiting for Santa to come.

Tyler and Tristan again. Too cute not to post!

Grandpa Ken with the boys right before bed (I think.) Maybe early in the morning...not sure.

Carter on Christmas morning telling me that Santa (Santee) had come.

Carter and Uncle Matt in his new tent. He loves it!

Opening up his stocking!

Me opening up my surprise gift from Carl (we weren't supposed to get each other anything this year). He had it in, like 4 different boxes with soup cans and other crap to throw me off. Can you see what the box says? The Oakley sunglasses I've wanted since October!!!! Yay for Carl! I freakin' love them!!!

Carter opening up his new Choo-choo! It's all he wanted from Santa this year!

Licking on the ginormous jawbreaker that Paw and Sue got him. Matt and I used to get one every Christmas, so they thought they'd start the tradition with Carter early! Carter and Tyler on one of the new firetruck ride-ons that Paw and Sue got for each of the twins this year. Yay, that means no fighting over them!
In the big bathtub!!!

Uncle Matt with his favorite boys.

Fish and I after she got off work one night at Matt's. See, I'm not a total fun-hater...I drink...just, like, twice a year!

Carl was sad because we took Carter to Union Station to see all the trains and Carter was too scared to ride on the kid train. (Weird because he's not afarid of anything...and he loves trains!) Hmmmm.
Carter and me as Abe Lincoln and his wife...I think?
The best pic we could get...Carter didn't want to be contained...he wanted to plaster his face to the plexiglass and check out the choo-choos.
He would pose by himself, though. Adorable!
The best family photo we got all week. Disappointing. Ugh.
The kids did better with Matt, Paw and Sue (because Carl was behind me jumping around making faces, laughing and calling their names...except that Carter said Cheese, so the babies looked at him instead of the camera. They always look at Carter when he's talking!)
Mini GU Reunion:
Here's Janelle Benson Cross with her little girl, Ally and my Tristan.
Tristan fell asleep next to one of his new BFF's inside Katy's belly. How cute!
Frisbie with Tyler.
Hmmm. No longer are we in the kitchen for shots and jungle juice...we're in there feeding, holding, bouncing our kiddos!
Fish, Dad, Andrea (Yay! Can't believe she was in town!) and Steph.
Janessa (another YAY!) with Tyler.
Carter and his girlfriend Audrey in the bathroom. (At least it's not my child messing with the dirty toilet seat lid...sorry Jeremy and Stace!)
All the babies...and I mean all...including the one in Stacy's belly and Katy's belly (on each end.)
Kids in order: Audrey Bullcoming, Emerson Wood, Payton Yoder, Carter, Tristan and Tyler Hoyt
The family photo!
Gimp even stopped by...honestly, I haven't seen her in over 5 years! SOOOO good to see her! And she got Tristan right to sleep! We miss you, Gimpy! Me, Carrie, Katy and Baby in Belly.
Giving Fish kisses for the Fish...
Right before we left town, Leah (my BFF from high school) and her hubby, Rob, stopped by to see us! It was great catching up with her and meeting Rob for the first time! She is due to have their baby, Grayson, in just a few weeks! Oh, and this is as close as Carter was going to get to Leah for a picture. Stinker!
Well, we had another great visit to K.C. for Christmas! Thanks for all the gifts (Mom, Dad, Matt and Grandma!) Thanks to all our awesome friends for taking time away from your families to come see us. We had a great time! XOXOXO!

Ok, so I know we've never met but am I right to say all of your friends have nicknames?? (fish, fisbie...) I'm
just checking and hoping their parents were not that cruel to name them that! No Offense to anyone! Love your blog and your cute kiddos!

Oh yes...nicknames...they are college friends and you know, everyone had a nickname in college...and some just stuck. The Fish is actually Nicole...and Frisbie is Amber's last name. We're all normal kids from the suburbs with normal names! =)
