Outside Play, Pinkeye, Family Visit and Face Plant

You know you live in Iowa when you let your kids play outside because it's "warm" yet there's still snow on the ground. But, really, it was melting folks, so it was a good 45 degrees...

They LOVED their 15 minutes of freedom! They played like there was NO tomorrow!
My sweet, sweet Tyler. Look at those cheeks!
Tristan. He's serious about his toys.
And, Carter, of course. I think he thinks if he leans forward his tractor will go faster. Oh, well. It still only goes -2 miles per hour.
Well, that was fun while it lasted. The next day, we discovered Carter had pinkeye. Gross. (And you're welcome for posting a picture.)
Good thing the pink eye cleared up before my family visited last weekend. The boys enjoyed themselves (probably because they were spoiled for 48 hours straight!)

T and T really like building towers with their blocks these days. It's so funny to watch and listen to them go. As it gets taller and taller they start to squeal and say, "Oh no. Oh no. Oh no." They continue saying that as they build until it finally falls and then they smile at each other and start all over again.
Don't they look so big here???
Everyone brought gifts for Carter's birthday (and gifts for T and T also) so we spend Friday night opening the presents and playing with all the goodies.

Carter was cracking Grandma Sue up! (Obviously.)
His favorite new toy, BY FAR!
Here's a fun little game Carter invented this trip. Uncle Matt would try to sleep on the couch and Carter would pile as much crap as he possibly could on top of him.
So proud of the job he did!
For Carter's birthday gift, Uncle Matt took him to Build-a-bear. Don't cha know it, Carter picked out the tackiest bear possible. Matt and I tried to talk him into a few others, but he wanted the GREEN bear. Whatev. It was his choice after all. So, along we went...
He was a little scared of the pedal at first, so I helped him out.
He was, however, excited to pick out the bears heart...
...and he was totally willing to put it inside the bear.
Favorite part of the whole thing, by far, was the bear wash. He washed his bear at least 3 times. In fact, we went up to the front of the store to look at different outfits we could put on his bear and he'd look up at me and Matt and say, "Uh oh, my bear is all muddy. We better go wash him off." Hilarious!

Carter, Uncle Matt and Sloopy, the Ohio State-loving, obviously Irish, Bulls basketball playing bear! Carter loves him!!!
I'm sure in this picture he's thinking, "Thanks for my saaaweet bear, Uncle Matt!"
Just as things were calming down at the Hoyt house, Carter fell off his bike. It was a bad one, friends. UGH. He's fine now and is back on his bike. No worries!
